Amy Margolis, LCSW, is a licensed therapist, the author of Here’s the Memo, and the creator of the course, Break Free From Your Anorexic Mindset. Amy has 25-plus years of experience treating clients healing from eating disorders, addiction, anxiety, depression, and relational issues. She is integrative in her approach and trained in EMDR trauma therapy. Amy is also the Co-Founder and Clinical Director of Santa Monica Counseling, where she supervises numerous associates.
Amy knew by age 19, when she began her own recovery journey from Anorexia, that she wanted to be a therapist. Through decades of healing, deep female friendships and work with clients, Amy has found that women of every shape and size struggle with some degree of an anorexic mindset — striving for perfection, pathologizing their appetites, and basing their worth on a number on the scale. Amy feels it is her personal mission to help women break free of this mindset so they can live with the freedom and personal power she enjoys and knows is possible for every woman!
Amy loves her work as a therapist. “You know you are in the right profession when work doesn’t feel like work.” She feels privileged to help people heal. Amy is also a Meisner and Groundlings-trained actor who has devoted her creative career to voice-over work. She has worked for Nickelodeon, Netflix, Amazon, Disney, and on many commercials, podcasts, and video games. Mostly, Amy loves being a mom to Caroline, Jack, and Matthew.
